you know you have crohn's if....

  •  had to repost:

You have a whole shelf in your pantry dedicated to your meds
  • You can tell what part of your GI tract is off kilter today by the sounds..
  • when you tell the phlebotomist, "trust me, thats not a good vein. no, you don't want to poke there either..."your grandparents ask you what they can expect when they go in for their first colonoscopy
  • you can clench your buttcheeks so hard you are sure if you put coal in there you could make a diamond
  • Your not a med student but your bookcase is 75% medical texts.
  • Every skin rash triggers an emotional crisis!
  • If You have larger clothes for bloated days..
  • Your family comes to you for medical advice.
  • You desperately wish Ensure came in more than 3 or 4 flavors..
  • you stock up on clear liquids for flares or tests
  • You look like you're 6 months pregnant by bedtime.
  • When your cats feel sorry for you and cuddle up close to comfort you.
  • You would never say I have a "stomach ache," but are more likely to say "my right lower quadrant is hurting," or "my inflamed ileum is giving me trouble!"
  • You know the ER staff and all your doc's offices people by first name without having to look

    another dose....

just got another dose of remicade....needed this one!!  tummy was in an uproar past week.  but now all better! whew!  its amazing how remicade helps me.  or maybe its just psychological and they just give me saline in that iv! LOL!
this time Shelly (my nurse) hit a valve in the vein.  just prior i was telling her how she was the only one who could get the iv going in me.  so she said i jinxed her.  lol!

so that means this past week, i did not train.  argh!!!  i am doing some pull-ups, sit-ups and walking...but nothing major.   next week, its back to the grind...and train.

still trying to figure out how to get sponsorship....sent out some emails today as well.  hopefully something will turn up.

    ta- ta for now...

he worked on my arms and upper body as well as abs today.
it was a good workout. didn't drip sweat, but worked the muscles hard!!!
its great to be back and working out!!! wasn't tired when i went back to work!! it energized me!!!

About me:As most of you know, I have Crohns’ disease.  It has affected me on many levels.  I’ve been through many medications, treatments, holistic, etc.. Currently I am on Remicade, which targets specific proteins in the body’s immune system to help control the development of inflammation, significantly reducing painful symptoms in diseases such as Crohns.  It has controlled my “flares”.  But I still deal with it on a daily basis.

I have made a commitment to run this half marathon to bring hope for individuals battling IBD. I am hopeful you will join me in the search for the cure for  Crohn’s and Colitis. Over 80% of every dollar raised through Team Challenge will directly benefit the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America to support its mission for research, education and to find a cure.

Much Aloha and Mahalo for your support!!!!

Hope to see you bowling, or dancing...or dancing while you bowl!!
